Privacy Policy

We believe in absolute transparency. Read exactly how the Coupon AI Assistant Chrome extension treats your data.

Three things we do not do

  1. 01
    No account
No sign-up, no email, no profile. Install and use.
  2. 02
    No tracking
No analytics pixels, no third-party scripts, no fingerprinting.
  3. 03
    No affiliate hijack
We don’t rewrite the merchant’s referral links to claim them as ours.

1. Our Privacy Philosophy

At Cupcake Development, we build software we actually want to use. That means we have zero interest in tracking your web browsing habits, profiling your consumer behavior, or selling your data to advertisers.

The Coupon AI Assistant Chrome extension operates entirely inside your browser and is designed to do exactly one thing: test every available discount code at checkout to find you the best savings. Our business logic runs locally, and our remote servers are only used to deliver coupon data and selector configs.

2. Chrome Extension Permissions & Why We Need Them

To function, browser extensions require specific permissions. We only request the minimum required privileges:

  • Storage Permission (storage): We use this to save a list of supported merchants and coupon data locally in your browser. This speeds up shopping, allows the extension to bypass non-supported domains without sending requests, and remembers your local preferences.
  • Tabs Permission (tabs): This is used during the checkout process to safely interact with, refresh, and monitor the specific checkout tab to verify whether a coupon was successfully applied.
  • Host Permissions (*://*/*): Required to scan pages for checkout indicators. To prevent slow performance and preserve privacy, the extension does not look at your active pages unless the domain matches our locally-cached list of supported checkout platforms.

3. Data We Process & Transmit

We want to be completely transparent about what leaves your machine. The extension performs two types of secure network calls:

  1. Merchant Config & Code Resolution: When you are at a checkout page of a supported merchant, the extension sends a secure HTTPS request containing the merchant's domain or checkout URL to our API endpoint to retrieve the relevant promo codes and the automation sequence for that specific shopping cart. We do not transmit your shopping cart contents, purchase history, names, or addresses.
  2. Error & Telemetry Tracking (Sentry): If a coupon-applying script crashes or the API fails, a diagnostic report is sent to Sentry (our crash reporting tool). This report contains purely technical data: the merchant domain name, browser version, step execution phase, and the error stack trace. It is strictly used to repair broken checkout scripts and has zero personal identification data.

4. What We Do NOT Collect

For absolute clarity, we do not store, process, or transmit:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, or profiles.
  • Credit card numbers, bank accounts, or billing information.
  • Passwords, usernames, or any authentication credentials.
  • Your general search history, search engine queries, or random web browsing.

5. Data Security

All communications between the Coupon AI Assistant Chrome extension and our backend API are fully encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (HTTPS). Your cached merchant data is safely sandboxed in your browser's local storage and cannot be read by other websites or extensions.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy as the extension evolves or browser capabilities change. Any changes will be published directly on this page, and the extension package will update its version automatically via the Chrome Web Store.
